Macmillan hike training part 4.

Donaghadee harbour walk – with the famous lighthouse! 0.44 miles! The plaque refers to the Princess Victoria the sinking of which caused the largest loss of life in a maritime incident in peacetime in these islands. No women or children survived. The rescue attempt went out from Donaghadee and many of the buildings were used as temporary morgues. The plaque marked the fiftieth anniversary. The stones are a recent addition which started in lockdown. It does give a wee point of interest!
